ARTISTIC STATMENT
Elizabeth Atkinson: This was a world premiere of a devised piece led by director Anna Brenner that had been in process for years. The play was inspired by, but not exclusive to, the original Dostoevsky. My process focused on getting the sound of each of Fyodor's children and especially of the illegitimate daughter, Liz. The piece that I have shared is the finale, accompanying movement and dance. Telling the journey of Liz's grief over her father's death and anger towards her siblings through to reconciliation with all the family.
